WENTWORTH HALL BEER OLYMPICS Game Rules

Blank Slate

Be the first player to reach 15 points by matching your answers with exactly one other player. Too obvious and everyone matches. Too weird and no one does. The sweet spot is everything.

Setup

Gameplay

A designated player draws a card and reads the Word Cue aloud. The cue has a blank space either before or after a word.

Example Word Cue
COLD _____
Possible answers: OUT  •  TURKEY  •  SODA  •  SHOULDER
1
Write Your Word
Secretly
Every player secretly writes a single word on their Slate to complete the phrase.
2
Reveal Answers
Simultaneously
Once everyone is finished writing, all players flip their slates face up at the same time.
3
Calculate & Record Scores
Using the 3-1-0 Rule
Points are awarded based on how many people wrote the exact same word. Move your token forward on the scoreboard immediately.
4
Clean Slates & Repeat
Next Round
Erase the slates, select a new Word Cue card, and begin the next round.

Scoring — The 3-1-0 Rule

Points reward finding the sweet spot between predictable and obscure. Matching with everyone is just as bad as matching with no one.

3
Exactly 2 players match
You found the perfect middle ground with one other person.
1
3 or more players match
The word was too obvious or popular.
0
Nobody else matches
The word was too unique or off-the-wall.

Winning the Game

The first player to reach 15 points on the scoreboard wins immediately. If multiple players cross 15 in the same round, the player with the highest total score wins.
If two players are tied for the highest score, there will be a cage fight to the death. Or rock, paper, scissors to determine the winner. Your choice.
